Tree Planting Date: August 2, 2023 Venue: School of Vavuniya Kalmadu 2 Vidhiyalam Organized by: Vavuniya District Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization with the assistance of Vavuniya Kalmadu 2 Vidyalayam. It was a resounding success, exemplifying the remarkable potential of community-driven initiatives in fostering environmental stewardship. The collaborative effort between the Vavuniya District Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization and the School of Vavuniya Kalmadu 2 Vidhiyalam saw the participation of a diverse and enthusiastic group of attendees, including students, teachers, volunteers, and members of the community…With the aim of cultivating a greener tomorrow, nearly 100 Tabebuia rosea trees were planted during the event. The active involvement of school students was particularly heartening, showcasing their commitment to nurturing nature. Guided by experts, the participants planted each sapling with care and learned about proper planting techniques, underscoring the educational aspect of the project. The Tree Planting Project stands as a shining example of collective determination and shared responsibility. It highlighted the potential for positive change when communities unite for a common cause. As the freshly planted trees take root and flourish, they serve as a living testament to the efforts of all those involved, symbolizing hope for a greener and more sustainable future. Responsibility for Malnutrition in School Students

Vavuniya 6th May 2023 Title : Report on Meeting and Field Visit by Dr. Wimalasooriya to Vavuniya  District on Responsibility for Malnutrition in School Students On May 2nd Dr. Wimalasooriya  from Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization visited Vavuniya District Directors and related Officers. The purpose of the Meeting was to discuss the responsibility  for malnutrition in School Students. The meetings were held at various locations including the AGA’s Office, Irrigation Department, Agriculture Department and National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NAQDA). The attendees of the meetings discussed various aspects related to the issue of malnutrition in School students and brainstormed potential solutions to address the issue. After the meeting, they had a field visit, assessed the conditions of Schools and spoke to the students and the teachers to gain a better understanding the issues and also visited various villages to observe the food  habits and the availability of nutritious food. The LFRO Vavuniya District Office planned to continue and provide nutritional education , promoting the availability of nutritious food and improving overall food security in the District.
