What we Do

No Poverty  – Goal 1.

  • Providing children with the knowledge and life skills so that they will be not a burden.
  • Ensuring that children attend school
  • Ensure Access to health, Water and sanitation.
  • Training and conducting awareness programs for people living in poverty to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to secure a livelihood.
  • Participation of Women & Children should be promoted and encouraged.
  • Everyone, irrespective of Sex, Race, Religion,Colour, Disability, etc., should be treated as equal.
  • Promote Welfare for communities.
  • Assist Small farmers to new markets.
  • Take steps to establish and promote Social Enterprises ( Self-employment) in every village so that everyone ( leaving no one behind) would be able to get an income by sharing the profits of this project.

 

Zero Hunger – Goal 2.

  • You cannot give food for a day and make Zero Hunger and therefore promote Poultry Farms ( for Eggs), Fresh Water Fish Farms, Home Gardening.
  • Awareness on proper food consumption patterns to reduce hunger and to be healthy.
  • Promotion of Sports and other Exercises
  • Take steps to establish and promote Social Enterprises ( Self-employment) in every village so that everyone ( leaving no one behind) would be able to get an income by sharing the profits of this project.

 

Good & Well-Being – Goal 3.

  • Promote health education, conduct medical camps, educate the community on prevention methods and as to how to live a healthy life.
  • Awareness on Mental & Physical Health
  • Awareness on proper eating patterns and selection of healthy foods
  • Promotion of Sports & Games
  • Conducting awareness programs on Diabetes, Childhood Cancer, Obesity, Stroke
  • Conducting Medical Clinics
  • Conducting Dental awareness program and Dental Clinic
  • Awareness on Prevention of  Drugs
  • Introducing and helping to start a Hobby
  • Eye Screening, donation of Spectacles & performing Cataract Surgeries

 

Quality Education – Goal 4.

  • Ensure that all girls and boys complete, equitable and quality primary and secondary education.
  • Ensure early childhood development and universal pre-primary education
  • Assist in skills development, technical & vocational education and training.
  • Assist Students from poor families with Books, Uniforms and if necessary, Scholarship & Internet Data Scholarship for attending Zoom Classes
  • Assistance would be given to all girls and boys, women and men, to have equal opportunity to enjoy education of  high quality, achieve at equal levels and enjoy equal benefits from education,  irrespective of sex, age, race, colour, ethnicity, language,religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property or birth, as well as persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and children and youth, especially those in vulnerable situations or other status, should have access to inclusive, equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.
  • To ensure  that all youth, adults, both men and women, achieve literacy and numeracy.
  • Children with Special Needs would be taken care and all assistance would be provided to bring them back to normal life like all others.
  • Would recognize teachers annually for their valuable service to the community.

 

Gender Equality and Women, Children & Elders – Goal 5.

  • To ensure Gender equality which is a fundamental human rights.
  • Prevention of gender-based violence and ensure equal rights for all.
  • Promote women’s empowerment and ensure that the world is better and fairer for all people.
  • Awareness & Education on household chores and children’s care which is the responsibility of both parents.
  • Assist and prevent domestic violence or other abuse.
  • Educate & conduct awareness programs that no one makes any comments that specially ridicule, demean or humiliate women, black people, indigenous people, and other marginalized groups.

 

Clean Water & Sanitation  – Goal 6.

  • Assist and educate the communities on the preservation of ground drinking water and to provide assistance for the supply of drinking water.
  • Ensure everyone has access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
  • Improve sanitation facilities by providing toilets and latrines that flush into a sewer or safe enclosure.
  • Promote good hygiene habits through education.
  • Awareness & assistance on the development of water safety plans.
  • Promoting safely-managed rainwater harvesting in the communities and schools.
  • Supporting the WASH Group in their activities
  • Awareness on avoiding contamination of water.
  • Cleaning Rivers, Streams & Lakes and educating the community.

 

Affordable & Clean Energy – Goal 7.

  • Conduct awareness and promote the use of solar, wind and thermal power.
  • Educate & assist in the use of clean cooking fuels and technologies and to avoid  inefficient and polluting cooking systems.
  • Promote and assist rural hospitals and schools through off-grid and portable renewable energy technologies such as using solar panels.
  • Innovative projects would be promoted to encourage the access to renewable energy sources at the community level in the key sectors including electricity and transport.

 

Decent Work & Economic Growth – Goal 8.

  • Establishing Social Enterprises in every village so that everyone would develop their skills, capacity, earning power and would not be a burden to others. This will benefit the un-employed, housewives, elderly and disabled, etc., to earn a living for them without any financial investment by them.
  • Identify the need of the job seeker and training on a particular vocation that he or she is interested.
  • Encourage and support any innovative ideas and products that would enhance the economic growth and job creation.
  • Encourage and promote the growth of small enterprises.
  • To take steps to improve the economic and social conditions of the community by providing them with necessary assistance without favoritism or discrimination of race or religion.

 

Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure –  Goal 9.

  • Assist small-scale industrial and other enterprises to find financial services including credit facilities.
  • Assist small-scale industrial and other enterprises to suitable markets for the goods manufactured / produced by them and also assist them to find technological and technical support.

 

Reduce Inequality – Goal 10.

  • To ensure Gender equality, prevention of gender-based violence and ensure equal rights for all.
  • Promote women’s empowerment and ensure that the world is better and fairer for all people.
  • Awareness & Education on household chores and children’s care which is the responsibility of both parents.
  • Educate & conduct awareness programs that no one makes any comments that specially ridicule, demean or humiliate women, black people, indigenous people, and other marginalized groups.
  • Find ways to support the promotion of women  in the arts, sciences, sports, and other fields and to promote  increase the hiring of women and other underrepresented groups
  • Assist in finding an end to domestic violence or other abuse.
  • Promote equal training for all.

 

Sustainable Cities & Communities – Goal 11.

  • Promoting and assisting in Urban agriculture, City Shading, making cities with green pleasant environments.
  • Encourage & conduct awareness on consuming healthy diets. …
  • Advising Hotels, Hospitals, etc., in reducing and managing food waste;  recycling, composting or energy recovery, and finally sustainably dispose of what is left.
  • Conduct awareness and assist in limiting pollution to levels which do not damage natural systems so that everyone in the community are safe, healthy and ultimately happy.
  • Conduct awareness on the use of energy, water and other natural resources efficiently and with care and limit pollution to levels which do not damage natural systems.
  • Protect the diversity of nature
  • Promote  opportunities for cultural activities, leisure and recreation to all
  • Assistance and guidance to solve the Elephant – Human conflict which takes the life of the poor communities as well as Elephants and which causes lots of financial losses and living conditions for the community.

 

Responsible Consumption & Production – Goal 12.

  • Promote Home Gardening and consuming of Healthy foods
  • Reducing  food waste  and fighting pollution, reducing the overall waste generation, and  improving the management of chemicals and toxic wastes.
  • Educate the need to reduce our ecological footprint by changing the way we produce and consume goods and resources.
  • Conduct awareness to change how and what we consume.
  • Sustainable consumption and production, a better quality of life while minimizing the Use of toxic materials as well as the emissions of waste and pollutants over the life Cycle of the service or product.

 

Climate Action – Goal 13.

  • Tree Planting.
  • Write a letter to your local, state or national elected official explaining your concern about climate change and urging them to act.
  • Educate community to turn off fossil fuels, and turn on a just transition to renewables.
  • Educate community on reducing the causes of climate change by reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
  • Educate community to reduce risk of Climate by reusing, recycling, walking, using public / shared transport,  ,Alternative energy production. …
  • Educate community on Managing water and Change in agricultural systems.
  • Cleaning the Sea, Beach, protecting the Lagoon & Mangroves.
  • Advice public on insulating the walls, buying a fuel efficient car,  Keeping  the tires on the car adequately inflated, buying  local goods and products, Eating  less meat &  dairy and cutting down on consumption and waste.

 

Life Below Water – Goal 14.

  • Ocean cleaning, awareness on preventing illegal methods of fishing.
  • Cleaning the Sea, Beach, protecting the Lagoon & Mangroves.
  • Educate community to protect sea by eliminating pollution, Ocean Acidification, over fishing and to protect all marine life.
  • Conduct awareness and assist to reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution. Protect marine and coastal ecosystems to avoid significant adverse impacts, including by strengthening their resilience, and take action for their restoration in order to achieve healthy and productive oceans.
  • Assist to Conserve Coastal and Marine Areas

 

Life On Land – Goal 15.

  • Educate and Assist restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification.
  • Educate and assist to Conserve and restore terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems.
  • Involve in ending deforestation and restoring degraded forests.
  • Awareness and assistance on ensuring conservation of mountain ecosystems, protecting biodiversity and natural habitats, establishing wild fruits forests, establishing Nature Gardens, finding a safe home for wildlife species which face extinction.
  • Establishing a forest for bird species, amphibians, mammals, freshwater fish, ants and flowering plants.
  • Awareness on avoiding contamination of water.
  • Cleaning Rivers, Streams & Lakes and educating the community.

 

Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions – Goal 16.

  • Promotion of Social Enterprises so that the unemployed community in a village will get together and work as a group working together and sharing the profits. This will make peace, justice and the community united as one family.
  • Establishing Time Bank in every village which will not involve any finance, but people will work for others free of charge and that time they have spent would be time saved. 
  • Once others work for this particular person, the time would be debited from the savings accordingly. This will make the community united and peaceful.

 

Partnerships for the Goals – Goal 17.       

  • To coordinate, co-operate and work with other NGOs, INGOs, Civil Societies, other volunteer organizations, private business enterprises and the government of Sri Lanka to fulfill the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

 

Psychology  & Special Needs  Children – 18

  • Assisting and development of special needs children of any children and to make them to be treated like any other children.
  • Talking to them, listening to them and promoting Speech , Music, Sports, Games, Education, Art, Handy craft making, etc. and taking their talents out.
  • Conducting entertainment events, distribution of Gifts & Awards and making them happy.
  • Parent – Child counseling to avoid any mental disorders
  • Improving the quality of life.
  • Providing Psychological treatment whenever required.
  • To rehabilitate these children so that they may be able to move freely in the public and take part in community activities.
  • Identifying the special needs of a child and make appropriate accommodations to support his/her learning and development.
  • To ensure that the Children feel  that are physically comfortable, loved and secure;
  • Have opportunities to play and learn; people care about them; and activities that allow them to be successful.
  • Give them more time to learn and practice certain skills and then praise and Encourage.

 

Human Rights Violations – 19

  • Ensure fundamental rights from womb to tomb which covers the entire rights including rights to health, wealth and education.
  • Educate the Community as well as our own Members about Human Rights
  • Educate them as to how human rights violations could be avoided.
  • Encourage volunteers to become actively involved in fundamental rights and to ensure that fundamental rights are protected.
  • Heighten awareness of the impact of fundamental rights issues on various groups within Sri Lanka.
  • To take steps to improve the economic and social conditions of the community by providing them with necessary assistance without favoritism or discrimination of race or religion.
  • To assist those children who are being harassed by their parents and or spouses who are being  harassed by their husband, with legal advice and to find ways and means to help them  to  live happily and peacefully.
  • To ensure that no person shall be subjected to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Neither capital punishment nor life imprisonment without possibility of release shall be imposed  for offenses committed by persons below eighteen years of age; no child shall be deprived of his or her liberty unlawfully or arbitrarily . The arrest, detention or imprisonment of a child shall be in conformity with the law and shall be used only as a measure of last resort and for the shortest appropriate period of time;
  • To ensure proper transportation of the community specially of Children and Elders.

 

Anti-Drug Campaign & Rehabilitation – 20

  • Educational and a rehabilitation project targeting youth involved with drugs.
  • Educational and a rehabilitation project targeting children recovering from forced drug use.
  • Help youth and children involved with drugs to make a difference in their life. Mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use.
  • Help to prevent drug abuse, with activities such as  life-skills education in schools and family skills training.

 

Ayurveda Development  – 21

  • Working jointly with the government authorities to Establish a Ayurvedic Medical Lab Cultivation of Herbal Plants Setting up standards, registrations, etc.,
  • Updating the Ayurvedic Pharmacopeia
  • Encouraging research regarding indigenous drugs and treatment methods
  • Growing medicinal herbs locally for Ayurvedic drug production.
  • Implementing island wide programmes for early detection and prevention of communicable diseases
  • Conservation of medicinal plants, species, their habitats and genomes, and promote their sustainable use.
  • Preservation of indigenous information on medicinal plants

 

Youth Development – 22

  • Prepare youth to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood and achieve his or her full potential.
  • Prepare the children to  go through to acquire the attitudes, competencies, values, and social skills they need to become successful adults.
  • Conduct regular awareness programs on leadership, skills development,  drug awareness, personality development in School and appreciate and award them at the end of the year.

 

Media & Publicity – 23

  • Updating and monitoring Social medias such as Face Book, YouTube Channel and our website.
  • Publicity of our organization and the services we do for the poor needy.
