Kuruwita Central College in Ratnapura District was uplifted as a National School on 6th January 2022. The School opened after the long closure for the Covid 19 pandemic.  Many poor students were unable to get education properly due to the absence of smartphone, laptop facilities in their homes during this pandemic situation. Research suggests that children are more likely to develop negative psychological consequences due to the pandemic. Children have forgotten what it’s like to be in school.

Ms. Nadika Kumari, National Director of LFRO for Youth & Psychology, organized a awareness program “ Fulfilling Learning Gap among Students” which included guidelines as to how to overcome the situation and carry out the education.

This mixed School boys & girls totaling to 260 and the cost was only Rs.12,000/- for the refreshments.
