Cyclone Ditwah made landfall in entire Sri Lanka on from 28 November, severely damaging homes and infrastructure and leaving tens of thousands of families in need of support.The cyclone, among the most intense and destructive in Sri Lanka’s recent history, severely affected close to 2 million people and 500,000 families across all 25 districts, disrupting livelihoods, essential services, loss of lives and the broader economy and demised around 3 December.
During the time of the disaster, our members all over Sri Lanka were very active in providing essential services such as prepared meals, dry rations, sanitary items, mats, bed sheets, etc., etc., and we were not able to cover any of our activities due to the rain, floods, landslides, etc.
Now it is time for us to assist our affected citizens and as a first step, through the Officers of the 541 Infanry Brigade in Kalliyadi, assisted the badly affected 40 families of Grama Niladari Division MN 03 Paliaru of the Manthey West Division of Mannar district.
They were provided with Sarees, Shirts, Trousers, Blouses, Gowns, Skirts, Slippers,
Sandals, Soap, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, Ex Books, Mosquito Nets, etc.
The ground were made by Coordinating Officer : Leutitant Colonel Arabegedara, Leuititant Colonel JPU Kumara USP, Leuitant Hettiarachchi, Major LGAT Jayamanna usp psc, Major BMRSB Delvita, Captain AHNAMRC Bandara, Captain QM Karunarathna, Copral Sanjaya, Copral Konarasinghe, Copral Randunu, Lance Copral Edirisinha

This project was organized by Nandana Premakumara, Brigadier Yohan Fernando, Ananda Kaluarachchi, Chanaka Daniel, Gamini Wimalasuriya and Ambewatte Premarathna.
While goods were donated by Nandana Premakumara, Chanaka Daniel, Gamini Wimalasuriya , Dr.Jeyarani Rajaratnam and Ambewatte Premarathna, Somaratne and Priyadarshani & her daughter Umanda, cash contributions were made by Priyantha Ekanayake, Meril Jayawardena, W.M.Weerasuriya and Shiromi Gunathilake
