Zero Food Waste

Ratmalana 12.01.2025 – Ratmala Public Awareness on Waste Management Program by : Brigadier Yohan We will start from your home and office It is better to serve yourself again instead of serving more than your need and finally throwing away as a waste. The first step of management of food is to serve yourself only what you can eat. Please share this message among your children, family members and friends. Just think, if rice eating people in Sri Lanka is 100,000,000 If one grain of rice per meal, per day is wasted, total wastage would be 10,000,000 For two meals a day, the waste would be 20,000,000 grains of rice and for three meals a day, it would be 30,000,000. It would make a wastage of 900,000,000 grains per month. If this is so, for a year 10,800,000,000 grains will go to the dust bin as waste. This is what we do without knowing, and the figure given above is just wasting only one grain of rice per meal, actually which is very very higher. Just imagine the loss and waste. Let us start from today and make zero food waste.
